Corporate History:

Founded in 1983 as A&F Enterprises, the new small company set out to compete in the booming commercial construction business as a non-union, merit based, C-10 electrical contractor.

In 1985, the General Manager, Richard Horsley purchased the company from the retiring owner. A&F's new owner set out to expand the small company and diversify into more specialized electrical fields. Through on-going work with A&F's general contractor business partners, A&F was able to secure electrical subcontract projects in the medical field, completing several radiology departments, a ground up MRI facility at Harbor UCLA, multiple surgery suites and patient care areas in local hospitals. A&F gained a reputation as a highly qualified hospital, radiology and medical facility expert in the Southern California market.

In October 1989 A&F Enterprises filed for California State Incorporation changing the company name to A&F Electric, Inc. With continued interest in new markets, A&F was successful in expanding into laboratory construction. This new opportunity allowed A&F to develop an electrical design department with in-house electrical engineering and CAD services. Since 1989, A&F has provided complete design & build services and has been able to reduce the overall costs and shorten the completion schedules for each and every project A&F has completed.

A&F continues to be the small contractor with big contractor capabilities, providing cost effective design, accurate electrical engineering and quality installations along with expert project management and project close-out. Richard Horsley leads the project management, estimating and electrical design departments. The office manager and safety officer, Lori Himes, effectively manages the accounting and payroll departments as well as the coordination of our safety program. General Foreman, Brian Batts, supervises all field operations and field personnel since 1985.
