Project Profile: Crean Lutheran High School, Irvine, Calif.
Contract Value: $220,000.00
Planning to relocate from their current school location in time for the start of the 2010 school year, Crean Lutheran, www.clshs.org, started on a multi-phased, ground-up new High School consisting of a new sprung structure gym/classroom/locker room building, new administration/classroom building and overall site project. To maintain their ambitious schedule, Crean Lutheran selected three different design & build teams to complete the three phased, fast track installation of their new 20 acre High School located in Irvine, CA.
Due to our proven Design & Build capabilities and past experience with the unique requirements for sprung structure installations, A&F was selected as the Design & Build electrical contractor for the gym/classroom/locker room building team. This 20,000 sq ft ground up building included a new 600A 277/480V service, all new sport lighting, a complete fire alarm system, as well as electrical support for 70 tons of HVAC. The new gym would also be used for church services and various assemblies and would require a complete dimming system for the court lights, along with a complete audio-visual system including stage lighting and controls.
The fast track design process began in April 2010, the construction started in May and Crean Lutheran relocated their staff and students to the new campus on schedule in November.
